activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have

Commission on public
benefit)
The purpose of Les Petits Bilingues de Newham is the advancement of
education for the public benefit by providing French speaking and non-
French speaking children from the ages of 5 to 16+ living in East
London with lessons in French and other activities outside mainstream
education to help:
- Those with an existing connection with French language, culture and
heritage maintain this connection in the UK and with their extended
families in their countries of origin.
- Bi-national families who are either settled permanently or temporarily in
East London and whose children do not attend French educational
establishments meet their needs and values through the provision of
French cultural support with a focus on improving the children's language
skills, confidence and self-esteem, which in turn will have a further
positive impact on their literacy and speaking skills.
- Parents and children of Newham eager to develop such skills easily
access such language learning facilities without having to travel long
distance.
- Achieve these purposes using non-traditional and playful teaching
methods aiming at creating an atmosphere of fun, engaging students’
creativity in their learning and practice of French language
All our bilingual projects related to French language learning took place
as planned through various language activities and games.
We maintained great standards to enable French bilingual projects to
happen for the academic year 2021/2022.
French national days celebrationwith cultural activities was held from
October to December 2021 and January/February 2022:
Our children gained in French cultural awareness through various
adventurous games and activities related to the main national French
days and/or celebrations such as Halloween, Christmas day, New Year’s
Eve, “La galette des rois” or Pancake Day “La Chandeleur”, Chinese New
Year, Easter, Eid day, Saint Patricks Day, Mothers/Father’s Day and
many more.
French cooking activity
Our children not only enjoyed learning the vocabulary of the recipes of
famous French “Galette des Rois” and “crêpes” as well as were able to
enjoy their final cooking.
Indeed our” Cooking in French” class became extremely popular as
French Crêpes and Galettes des Rois were deliciously cooked and tasted
from our students in December 2021 and February 2022 respectively.
French music and song classfor June 2022:
Celebrated Musical day with beautiful French songs on the 24th of June
with the intervention of a guitarist.
Our end of year school fun day was celebrated In July 2022.
Finally, we exchanged collaboratively with the association recognised
under the name of FLAM Monde with Heads of various French school
spread worldwide in terms of sharing excellent language learning and
teaching resources and ways of improvement to benefit the education of
the children.
We confirm the trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s
Guidance on public benefit.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

Some of the great achievements of charity during the year encountered our honourable invitation at “We are Beckton & Royal Docks Community Assembly” to enable a beautiful exchange for local students and francophone families living in Newham offering them the possibility to start with some resources and open-air Montessori activities ideas for our green class project” classe verte”. Therefore , our French Forest class was a success: We undertook French learning activities on plants, gardening held in open air at Thames Barrier Park in May 2022. French Drama activity:

In class intervention with our French drama teacher to initiate our children towards wonderful language learning tools and ways of better expressing the language with real French intonations. French university admission offered to two of our best students of Les Petits Bilingues de Newham for having regularly attended our French activities and put great efforts towards the learning of “Molière’s” language.

Section E Financial review

Our reserves result from accumulated unrestricted amount surpluses. We Brief statement of the intend to maintain our reserves at a level which is at least equivalent to a charity’s policy on reserves rental deposit of seven months’ rent plus one term operational expenditure. This is to mitigate against our principal risks of fluctuating pupil numbers and/or face any increase in the rental costs overall. Our trustees maintain a meticulous budgeting policy to be reviewed on a yearly basis to ensure the stability and accuracy of the charity budget in line with the regulations and thus the reserves enabling us to continue fulfil our obligations.
