The club provides facilities for the promotion of the learning and further development of playing Bridge in the local area. All ages are encouraged to join & there is a nationally recognised Stamford Youth Bridge Academy run by the club which promotes the playing of Bridge by school children in the local area. At the other end of the age spectrum many members are well over 70 and the club provides a friendly environment for these members. In addition the club also provides an area where U3A members can play both Bridge and Canasta. Social events include an away weekend of Bridge, Café Bridge, BBQ’s, Quiz nights and an Annual dinner. The club produces an excellent newsletter for the members and a regular Bridge column in the local newspaper. The club has a web site which is updated regularly. Para 1.20 | The year started with reduced attendances as the impact of covid remained a deterrent. Steadily as the year progressed the attendances recovered and by the year end numbers were approaching pre covid levels. Our social programme resumed with our annual away weekend, dinner , BBQ and Quiz nights. And our local charity fundraising events in the club also recommenced. The clubs school activities have also recommenced after covid but on a very limited basis as schools continued to be wary of outsider intrusion. |

Funds are held to cover (short term) operational costs in the event of a loss of income and to meet any unforeseen expenditure that may occur. |

Responsibilities and basis of report
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/03/2023 DD / MM / YYYY .
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
