Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | Through research and consultation we developed a diagnostic tool to help care homes identify small and cheap ways of improving the design of their offering specifically to make it more dementia friendly. This has a benefit to residents, employees and the management of the home. It has also given us insight into what is feasible for an existing care home to alter in order to improve their facility for dementia. The idea of the podcast series “Remember Design with Dementia in Mind” is to highlight the importance of designing interiors, exteriors, recreation, leisure, technology and tools for living in a dementia friendly way and to emphasise that this need not be expensive or obtrusive. We hope to hereby influence decision makers and designers so that life is easier for people with dementia and their carers. . |
