Para 1.38 | SARDA Anglia is entirely volunteer run and supported and therefore the contribution made by volunteers is immeasurable. Volunteer handlers train every day with their dogs, and it can take 2+ years to train a dog to a basic qualification standard. Volunteers also support the operations of the organisation by attending callouts, training, and other events. All volunteers expend significant time, effort and their own funds supporting the organisation and its aims. As a team of volunteers, we are on call 24/365 to the emergency services. |

Para 1.20 | Like many charities, SARDA Anglia had a difficult time during the Covid 19 pandemic. However, team members and their dogs continued to train, and new dogs are being trained as part of the natural turnover and operational lifespan of the dogs. This is important to maintain operational readiness and for the welfare of the dogs and their wellbeing. It is important to note that all dogs live out their natural lifespan after retirement and no dog is put to sleep at the end of its working life. It is important for the teams to remain trained and available for the benefits to the wider community if called upon. |
