Background:

The Wave of Peace (WAVE) is a volunteer-led charitable organisation dedicated to advancing and promoting human rights. Founded in 2016 by Shaimaa Mohamed Hassan, WAVE was officially registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2018. The charity’s purpose is to advance human rights and promote peace, social justice, and human dignity through education, advocacy, and community engagement.

The charity is governed by a Board of Trustees, all of whom serve on a voluntary basis and receive no remuneration or financial benefit from the organisation. The trustees confirm that the Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ending 1 April 2025 have been prepared in accordance with the CIO’s governing document and the Statement of Recommended Practice and comply fully with Charity Commission requirements.

Through these collaborative arrangements, WAVE continues to advance human rights, support marginalised and under-represented communities, and contribute to the promotion of a more peaceful, inclusive, and just society.
