The primory focus during 2022-2023 has been to rnise money for Tlie Ch&im Foundation Bursary Fund, in order to enable more children from low-ii)come Families to Attend the school. The Cheam Foundation also fJnan¢¢d a n¢iv facility in the 5¢hool grouiids called the "Year 8 Retreat" wliioli was Gompleled and its use by ¢urrent pupils in April 2023. During the year gross in¢om¢ was £170,652. During the year, The Clieam Found81ion made grants {from iiicon]e) of £87,461 directly to The Clieam School Education21 Trust, by wuy of paym¢nt for school fees for t]wes Bursary recipient children. Tl)e Cheam Foundation also made a grant (from incomc) of £47,114 dire¢tly to The Cheam School Educatio￿1 Trust to fAnancc tlie build of tl)e new"Y¢ar 8 Retreat" in the school ground5. PLANS FOR THE FUTiJRE The Cheam Foundation plans to continu¢ to rnise ￿llds to provide lif¢-¢han8ing Bursaries for children from low-income back8rouT￿5, as well as fllndraise for Capital Projects, Bs alld when approved by the H¢admaster Ind Governors, which are intended to extend the faciliti&s at th¢ school.

HESERVES The purpose of The Cheam foundation is to support the 8¢hool by raising fimds for capital projects and bursaries as notsd above. Its operational costs. are niet by Cheain S¢liool. In addition to the general discreiionary fund, various sub funds have been set up for specifi¢ proj¢cls, for example The Bursary Fund.
