Public benefit statement -
The trustees have read through the Charity Commission trustee guidance document called “The Essential Trustee what you need to know’. The trustees have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Commission in exercising their powers or duties.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects-
Christmas Santa and sleigh collections from streets, helped by local groups such as Sea Cadets; donations to many [mostly] local charitable organisations. Project Wenceslas running well, whereby donations received from people wishing to donate for example their winter heating allowance are used to help the energy accounts of particular people in need according to three trusted referrers. A grant of £5k from Sussex Community Foundation was a big boost for Wenceslas. Local food banks, Shoreham and Adur Community Food Bank, and Gateway Hub at Fishersgate, are given about £200 worth of groceries each month bought from Club funds.

Many local organisations have benefited from our generous donations.
The largest donations were to - Project Wenceslas clients £4295, Local food-banks £4684, furnishing and equipment for Quiet Room at St Peter’s Catholic Primary School £2143, slit-lens camera donation for Southlands Hospital £2000, Regular local donations £1800, Golf Day for Brain Tumour Research £1626.

The chaiity's trustees conside( th(Jt an audit is not (equi(ed for this yeaf undef section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to; examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Chaflties Act), and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's statement My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a ieview of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not Pfovide all the evidence that would be (equired in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
