There must be at least three tnjstees. The current three trustees are also the first and only trustees. Apart from the first trustees, every trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution of the trustees passed at a special meeting. Trustees may be re- elected. If the number of trustees falls below two. none of the powers conferred by the Trust Deed shall be exercisable by the remaining trustee, except the power to appoint new trustees. All cheques. and orders for the payment of money. are signed by two trustees. C. OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES The objecl of the Charity is to relieve those resident in Port Isaac who are in need by reason of youth, old age, ill health, disabiltty, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances by the provision of such grants as the trustees shall think fit. Money is given to the village by Buffalo Pictures who film here. This is the sole income to the fund. Applications are made to the fund and granted, following consideration by the Trustees, within the parameters set out in our constttution. Port Isaac as an area is defined and, as r8quested by Buffalo Pictures. funding is concentrated particularly on the young and the elderty of the village. D.ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE Following many years of filming activity in Port Isaac for the successful TV series Doc Martin, The Doc Martin Fund was established in 2013. The fund is sustained by variable payments into the account realised from the (worldwide) Doc Martin franchise. The fund is run by local trustees, whose brief is to evaluate applicalions from various StOr$I organisations/projects within Port Isaac. and if appropriate to provide grants from the Doc Martin Fund to facilitate beneficial results for the communrty. with particular emphasis on the old and young. Meetings of th8 trustees are held whenever applications for funding are received. Applications are invited to outline their ideas to the trustees. who then appraise these using established criteria, whereby a decision is made as to whether or not the Doc Martin Fund is able to assist. Each application is considered without prejudice and on its own merits. Each such meeting is attended by Communty Representatives drawn from the general community and from members of local organisations eg Parish Council, Primary School, Village Hall committee. As at 31 August 2024 income recVed totalled £259,619 (In the year £35.473) wrth balance held of £56,956. INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF THE DOC MARTIN FUND Registered Charity No. 1177280 I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Doc Martin Fund (the Trust) for the year ended 31 August 2024. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Chatities Act 2011 ('the Act,). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts wied out under sectK)n 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed dl the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515)(bl of the ACL Independent examinefs statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Tnjst as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not a¢¢ord with those records.
