Para 1.17 To develop the capacity and skills of the
members of the socially and economically
disadvantaged community of the Ashanti
region of Ghana in such a way that they are
better able to identify, and help meet, their
needs and to participate more fully in their
own community.
To advance the education of the pupils at
Asantoa Model school in Kumasi, by
providing and assisting in the provision of
additional resources not required to be
provided by the local education authority for
education at the school.
Developing Communities by bringing hope
and transformation to people in poverty.
Resourcing local partner organisations that
work in the designated locations in the UK
and abroad.
Building community sustainability through
user-led community enterprises.
Support the growth of local community
schools through the provision of materials
and teaching expertise.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or services
identified in the accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
The organisation currently works
collaboratively with local Churches and other
organisations in the UK and Ghana.
We work in partnership with Churches and
officials to develop strategies that identify
areas of need, and initiatives that will
contribute to meeting these needs. This is
done through lead agents, Chiefs, Elders,
and community leaders, who will hold
consultations with citizens to secure their
cooperation and commitment

sources of funds (including
any fundraising)
Para 1.47 The principal source of funding this year has
been regular monetary donations from within
the UK this year.
Investment policy and
objectives including any
social investment policy
adopted
Para 1.46 A key part of the fundraising strategy
continues to be from in-kind donations –
volunteer time and skills to leverage finance
from within Ghana itself.
A description of the principal
risks facing the charity
Para 1.46 The principal risk is the lack of personnel to
support the work in Ghana. Whilst there is
currently a small team in Ghana committed
to the vision of the project, the lack of
financial support is hampering the progress
towards delivery.
As the profile of the project increases in the
UK this is not being met with volunteer time,
and there is still insufficient funds to employ
staff. The trustees recognise the potential for
burn out of the volunteers and is looking at
contingencies to mitigate this.
