During this financial period, the CIO focused on delivering practical funding support across the Kirklees area. Building on last year’s progress, we directed resources toward projects that provide clear long-term value and support our core purpose.
Our main investment this year was the continued partnership with the One Community Foundation. We contributed £30,000 to their Endowment Fund, which was match funded with an additional £30,000. This strengthens the long-term funding available for local groups and ensures a steady, reliable source of future support. One Community continues to manage all due diligence, giving us confidence that the funding is used appropriately.
We also provided £1,965.60 to Windybank Activities for All, supporting their community programmes and helping them deliver a well-received foodbank that has provided much needed support to the wider community. Without this funding the foodbank was at risk of been removed from the local community.
Looking ahead, the CIO has begun reviewing its direction and future needs. Our priorities include:

Setting clear goals to guide the charity over the coming years.

Recruiting new trustees to strengthen governance and support ongoing growth.

Exploring additional funding routes such as Growing Great Places and the Community Plus Fund, both of which may offer new ways to support local groups.
As always, our focus remains on ensuring that all funds are used effectively for the benefit of Kirklees residents. We will continue to manage resources responsibly and look for opportunities that deliver real value to the community.
