The objects of the CIO are:

(1) The advancement of education for the public benefit, in particular but not exclusively in the subjects of digital and entrepreneurial techniques and methodologies.

(2) The relief of unemployment for the benefit of the public by such means as the trustees see fit including assistance to find employment, helping people start up their own businesses or income-generating ventures and the provision of land or buildings at below market or subsidised rents to businesses starting up.

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

(3) The promotion of social inclusion by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.

For the purposes of this clause ‘socially excluded’ means people who are excluded from society, or parts of society, as a result of one or more of the following factors: unemployment; financial hardship; youth or old age; ill health (physical or mental); discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment; poor educational or skills attainment; relationship and family breakdown; crime (either as a victim of crime or as an offender rehabilitating into society) or who are within, or have experienced, the public care or penal system.

The challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact our all programmes resulted in us suspending them. We decided not to launch any new programmes or incur any new costs and keep the charity moving forward by developing plans and building the underlying content. We also agreed to review the situation on a regular basis.
