Section D Achievements and performance
I am pleased to present this trustee report on behalf of the Milton Keynes Summary of the main Bangladeshi Association for the year ending 31st December 2022. achievements of the charity during the year Overview The year 2022 was a challenging year for the organization, as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to impact our community. Despite the challenges, we continued to deliver essential services and programs for the Bangladeshi community in Milton Keynes.
Service Delivery
Our community services continued throughout the year, offering support and advice to community members. We provided a range of services, including information and advice on health and social care, education and employment, and immigration. Our team also organized workshops, training sessions, and events to promote community cohesion and wellbeing.
We continued to work in partnership with other organizations to deliver joint projects, including a health and wellbeing project with the NHS and a community safety project with the local police force.
Fundraising
Due to the pandemic, we had to cancel several fundraising events that we had planned for the year. However, we were successful in securing funding from a range of sources, including grants from charitable trusts and foundations. We also received donations from local businesses and individuals, for which we are grateful.
Governance
The board of trustees met regularly throughout the year to ensure that the organization remained financially stable and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. We also reviewed and updated our policies and procedures, including our safeguarding policy.
We appointed a new treasurer during the year, who has worked diligently to ensure that our financial records are accurate and up-to-date. We also commissioned an independent financial audit, which provided assurance that our financial management processes are robust.
Looking ahead
We are optimistic that 2023 will be a more positive year for our community and organization. We plan to continue delivering essential services and programs, while exploring new opportunities to support the Bangladeshi community in Milton Keynes. We will also continue to review and update our governance structures to ensure that we are operating effectively and efficiently.
Conclusion
On behalf of the board of trustees, I would like to thank our staff, volunteers, and partners for their hard work and dedication during a challenging year. We are committed to continuing our mission of serving the Bangladeshi community in Milton Keynes and look forward to another successful year.
