Achievements and Performanc¢: Thc Trust achieved charitable (CIO) status on 18 January ?018. having formerly been known as the RAF Coliishall Station Ileritligc Fund. The closing cash balance of ihe Fund has be¢n tr¢at¢d as an unresiriclcd donation lo the CIO. Durin8 ihe period lo 31 January 2024 the Trust has achieved the following.. Our third and full year of operations has seen the Trust consolidaic its position of the EIAF Coltishall Elerita8e Centre as a significant attraction for the County of Norfolk. We have maintained stcady gr0￿h wilh visits by fornier station personnel, local int¢rcst groups and the general public. exc¢cding cxpcctations. The Trust's rclaiionship wilh the site owners has conlinuLd io be excellent and we noi only Tun the Heritagc Ccntrc but also provide heritsge advice and assistance ¢nsuring thal this is always iaken into account wh¢n plans are made lo develop Scoltow Enterprise Park. the name of the former RAF Coltishall site. This relalionship bodcs well for the future and provtdes us wilh the confidence to develop our plans for th¢ long term. Our well established annual rouline began with the usual preparations tor the third year of opcralions by returbi5hing some exhibits and othenvisc preparing for the 2023 season which began in carly April and closed ai ihe end of October. In addilion. a number of out of season visitors were hostcd with prior arrangement. Regular offers of items for exhibiting were accepted which include ? Paveway bombs (as used in the Gulf War) which were donaled by the RAF. In addition, a cutaway Spitfire propeller hub w&8 donated bv a local museum Ihal was closing and frorn another local museum. a sel of signs from the fornier station w¢re handed oi'er to 115 for display and thcse now adorn the outside walls of the courtyard of our building. These items. together with other new arriva]s add significanl new inlerest to our collection and thus are gradually completing the story wr lell with our exhibition. Page 4

The Trust was deltghted to appoint the well knoNvn avialion artist Mike Rondot as our artist in residence. This is appropriate as he was a Jaguar pilot based at RAF Coltishall and we display much of his aft￿.Ork. He has kindly ag￿ed to donate a proportion of Ihe sale of prints to our funds in return. We will be arranging events for him lo display his work in the coming season. The Trust now has a volunteer sialT of 22 people to rnn thc Hcritage Centre and associated activities. A new ITUStee, Carl Lamb. has also been appointed this year. A fonner RAF serl'iceman, his current background in finance with a reputable firm in Norwich will ensure the Trust can draw on a wealth of knowledge and expertise to devclop our business model and to secure more funding io keep our project moving fonward. Carl has also coniribuied the expanding our range of exhibils and has lent thc Trust a Lightning Fighter cockpit which is being refurbished to bring il up to display standard. To caler for this and other larger exhibi15, the Tru51 has renled on¢ of the Cold War dispersals on the airfield and with some sheller5 ihal have been er¢cted, this Provides a suitable location for ihe work required prior to the exhibits being broughi into public i'iew. The Elerilagc Lentre's unique Phoio Reconnaissance Collcciion, based on a group of deployable cabins, has been added to this year with a furthcr cabin which was used by Air Carncra technicians io repair and service aerial cameras. 'fhis now compleles the set and this cabin will be on display in ihe comin8 season. This group of cabins, the only one of ils kind, is considered a collection of national importance in telling lh¢ story of aerial reconnaissance from WW2 through to ihe era of Jaguar aircraft including the first Gulf War and beyond. Financially, the Trusi has agaTn proved thai ihe RAF Colii5hall Heritage Centre is viabl¢ with a donation based income. al least for the time being. Donations from visitors. fonner station i'eterans and corporal¢ gran15 have ensured Ihat the season's iakings provide more than sufficient funds for the Heritage Centre and ils actil'ilics to carry on and ¢xpand. Thi5 15, of course, complemented by the enormous amount of volunlary. effort thai gocs along with it. The Trust maintains a close watch on the financial situation on a monthly basis and the approach to fund raising is under constant review. A stead). increase in i'isiior numbers wa5 rnainlaincd this year with group visit5 being particularly welcomed. Of note was th¢ success of the "Talk and Tour" days which were wcll attended. Thes¢ ¢vcnls are usually oversubscribed and are on a price per head basis. Similarly.. the annual Heritage Open Days sponsorcd by Norfolk Countv Council in September were again oversubscribed and w'hen their online booking opened for the i'¢nu¢s throughoui Norfolk. our places filled within 4 days and taster than any of the other locations. Early in the year. the Site Managers infomled the Trust that they wished to move back into our building (the former guardroom) and use it as a receplionloffjce complex. We in tum, will mov¢ to the lornier Air Traffic Control building on the edge of the airfield. This building will be refurbished by the site manager5 and facilitie5 adapted for our needs. Thi8 ￿.111 create a furthcr onc-lhird addiiional space over our present exhibition area. The new facility will include an archive, otTice space and a crew room for volunteers. The refurbishment, of which initial work has begun. will greatly enhance the HeriLagL. Centre and creat¢ more scope for development. We await further news on th¢ project and ils projected timescalc5. This proposal rcprcscnts a considerable vote of confidence in our presence on the site and our contribution lo the site manag¢r's slaiutory responsibililics to the herilage of the site. Toward5 the end of our reporting year, the RAF Heritage Branch visited to see the H¢ritage Centre first hand and to reN'iew our operalion lo assess whether further coopcralion could be achieved. The Wing Commander who visited was impressed by our management and operation of the Herithge CenlTe and w&8 highly positive about the futurc and the FX)ssibilities for interaction in the future. Our Pittron. Air Marshal Sir Chris HaTper. attended the me¢ling to suppon us in our presentation on the day. Summary The RAF Station Coltishall Heriiage Trusi has had a successful year with the RAF Coliishall Ilerilage Cenlre slrengihening it5 position &q a significant attraction and as fitting commemoration ot a much re5pecled RAF sthtion. The Trus1 15 looking forward to another busy and successfijl year ahead. Voluntccrs: The chdriry is wholly run by unpaid volunt¢crs who are primarily the Trustees. All Trustees undertak-¢ their roles on a voluntsr>'lunpaid basi5. Further N'olunleers were recruited this )'ear to provide exhibition guidcslcducalors and to support operdlions in ternis of maintenance of our building and Ihe exhibils. Finydneial Review: The results for the year are Set out on page I l of lh¢ financial statements. The financial statements relate lo the provision of senices to satisfy the charity's financial obj¢ctives during th¢ period l February, 20?3 through to 31 January 2024 and show that we had a total income of £1 0,847 and our Cxpenditure totalled £8,060. The charity is in its sixth year of operation being regislered on 18 January 2018. For the curreni period £5,730 wa5 brought forward from last year's account to this account on l February 2023.
