Section F Other optional information

Second Half Rugby was severely challenged during the last year as COVID halted our efforts to expand our fundraising and commercial partnerships. This coincided with a challenging period for players who had to deal with the financial constraints imposed during the pandemic as employers sought to cut costs. In addition, the welfare challenges evoked by the lockdown placed considerable strain on both physical and mental health.

Within the constraints imposed by the pandemic Second Half was able to initiate a player support programme PTP that was pioneering in its approach to post career impact diagnosis and treatment. We hope to expand this as resources allow.

The future continues to look extremely challenging for players as more becomes understood of the consequences of increased workload and physical impact trauma. This, in conjunction with occupational injury outcomes, is likely to see an increased demand for Second Half services and will place an exponential challenge to our resources.

We hope in the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic to begin fundraising activities and events once again.
