Section D Achievements and performance
In 2022-23 we continued to fund programmers to support children in the Summary of the main most need. achievements of the charity We funded Tushinde to provide Fi Day Care, using our sponsored run during the year monies and continued to help them with support for training. We continued to lead local work to rescue and resettle refugee vulnerable children and mothers arriving and living locally. Our work with Buckinghamshire Council via the Helping Hands Charity resulted in employment for refugees, support for volunteers to support refugees, and 50 bikes plus equipment. The community bike project closed with the successful rehoming of 50 bikes and a report to the council.
Our support for the health and wellbeing of the refugees aligned to our articles by fundraising and supporting activities in partnership with others. We heard that children were missing school because they could not afford period products. We therefore funded school period packages to be given to young girls locally. We also funded STARR to enable children in need to go to circus performances.
We also continued with the knitting squares programme and linked to Baby Basics in Milton Keynes and 300 blankets were made and delivered to support local babies in need.. The shift to supporting UK children has enabled us to continue to deliver support in line with our charity constitution.
