ABOUT PARTICIPATION BASKETBALL LIVE STREAM NATIONAL TOUR EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS FIBA 3x3 WORLDTOUR ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA PARTNERS Team England's Men tookGold and the Women Silver as their performances lit up Birmingham at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Men were coached by our own CEO Julius Joseph whose wealth of knowledge of 3x3 basketball strategically lead the men to this first gold medal in the sports history. The team features former Ball Out 3x3 particpants Ashley Hamilton and Hafeez Abdul. Team GB Men qualified for the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Eurocup for the first time ever with wins over Slovenia, Greece, Romania and Israel. Coached again by Julius Joseph the team defeated the 2021 Olympic Gold Medalists Latvia to finish at QF round alongside 2024 Olympic Gold Medallists Holland and Silver Medallists Paris. The team features former Ball Out 3x3 particpants Orlann Jackman and Kayne Henry.

The trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025.

Governing Document and Organisational Structure
Ball Out Community is governed by a CIO Constitution dated 20 December 20217. The trustees are responsible for the overall governance of the charity and are appointed in accordance with the provisions of the constitution.
The charity is led by the trustees, supported by volunteers and delivery partners. Day-to-day operations are overseen by the lead trustee.
MAIN OBJECTIVES
Ball Out Community exists to harness the power of basketball as a tool for youth development, community engagement, and social inclusion. The charity’s objectives for the 2024–25 financial year were:

To provide accessible basketball opportunities for young people across London and surrounding areas.

To promote health, wellbeing, and positive lifestyle choices through sport.

To foster community cohesion by bringing diverse groups together through basketball events and programmes.

To create sustainable pathways for young players to progress into competitive basketball and leadership roles.

To recruit and work with volunteers to support Ball Out Community events and signpost to vocational courses.
ACTIVITIES IN 2024–25
During the financial year, Ball Out Community delivered a wide range of impactful activities:
Community Engagement:
- Organised local tournaments and showcase events, attracting families and fostering community pride.
National Events:

Continued to host the Ball Out 3x3 National Tour, recognised as the UK’s premier 3x3 basketball competition, providing opportunities for players of all levels.

Collaborated with Basketball England and other stakeholders to promote 3x3 basketball nationally.
Volunteer and Leadership Development:

Recruited and trained volunteers to support events and coaching, providing valuable skills and experiences.

Empowered young leaders through mentoring and involvement in programme delivery.
Partnerships and Funding:

Secured new sponsorships and funding streams to support growth and sustainability.

Strengthened relationships with local councils, schools, and community organisations.
Reserves Policy and funds held:
- As a small CIO operating on receipts ‑ and ‑ payments basis, the charity aims to maintain sufficient unrestricted reserves to meet short ‑ term commitments and support operational continuity. At year end, unrestricted reserves were £2,064 and restricted reserves amounted to £Nil.
Risk Management
The trustees regularly review the key risks facing the charity, including financial sustainability, event delivery risks, safeguarding, and compliance. Appropriate controls are in place, including financial oversight, insurance, safeguarding procedures, and contingency planning for event operations.
Financial Review

The charity’s income for the year consisted primarily of sponsorship receipts, event income, and trustee loan support. Expenditure related to event delivery, equipment, venue costs, and operational expenses.

The trustees consider the financial position to be stable. The charity continues to rely on sponsorship income and trustee support to manage cash flow during peak delivery periods.
Trustee Remuneration & Related Party Transactions

No trustee received any remuneration or benefits from the charity during the year (2024/25). No expenses were reimbursed to any trustee.

During the year, trustee Julius Joseph provided loan funding to support the charity’s cash flow. A loan of £19,800 was advanced during the year, and a balance of £18,300
was brought forward from the prior year. This resulted in a total outstanding balance of £38,100 owed to the trustee at the year end.
- The loan is interest-free, repayable on demand, and was approved by the trustees in accordance with the charity’s conflict-of-interest policy. Other than this loan, there were no related party transactions.
Going Concern Review and Assurance

The trustee, Julis Joseph, has formally confirmed to the board that he will not seek repayment of the outstanding balance of £38,100 for the foreseeable future, and that repayment will only be requested when the charity’s financial position allows it to do so without jeopardising its ability to continue operating.

This assurance has been taken into account by the trustees when assessing the charity’s ability to continue as a going concern.
Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and the accompanying Receipts and Payments Accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and applicable regulations. The trustees must ensure that the report and accounts give a fair reflection of the charity’s activities during the year and comply with the requirements of the charity’s governing document.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which are sufficient to show and explain the charity’s transactions and to disclose, with reasonable accuracy, the financial position of the charity at any time. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees confirm that they have complied with their statutory duties and have taken all reasonable steps to ensure the charity operates in accordance with charity law and its constitution throughout the year.
CONCLUSION
The trustees are proud of the progress made during 2024–25. Ball Out Community and delivered meaningful impact for young people and communities. Looking ahead, the charity remains committed to building and delivering sustainable model of youth basketball development, ensuring that every young person has the opportunity to benefit from the transformative power of sport.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF BALL OUT COMMUNITY
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Ball Out Community (registered number 1176395) for the year ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on pages 4 to 16.
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Basis of independent examiner’s report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts with those records.
It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

1. Accounting Policies
The principal accounting policies adopted by the Charity, which is a public benefit entity, in the preparation of the accounts are as follows.
1.1 Basis of preparation
These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention, as modified by the inclusion of charitable properties and fixed asset investments and investment properties at valuation.
These accounts have been prepared in accordance with “Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)” (effective 1 January 2019) - (Charities SORP (FRS 102)), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
These accounts are presented in pounds sterling and rounded to the nearest pound.
1.2 Going concern
The Trustees have prepared financial projections, taking into consideration the current economic conditions and have, at the time of approving these accounts, a reasonable expectation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus, they continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the accounts.

During the year, the charity entered into commercial agreements to support delivery of its charitable basketball programmes:
The charity received income during the year under several fixed-term sponsorship and partnership agreements. These arrangements provided commercial partners with rights such as branding visibility at events, advertising opportunities, promotional activations, hospitality benefits, and joint marketing activity. All sponsorship and partnership income are recognised on a receipts basis when cash is received.
In addition to monetary sponsorship, the charity also received a small amount of non-cash support in the form of meals and vouchers, which were distributed to participants and volunteers during events. These benefits in kind were valued at £500.

5. Donated Goods, Facilities and Services
During the accounting period, the charity received donations of 190 JD plastic bags, 40 basketballs, 190 socks and 190 water bottles. These are all given out to the participants that play/win the tournaments and no stock of these was held at the balance sheet date.
