The Charity provides lunch meetings 3 times a week, 52 weeks of the year. We use local venues such as pubs for people to come together to eat and chat from 12.30 – 4pm. Referrals come from GPs, social prescribers, word of mouth. The Charity funds a gentle exercise group to help older people maintain their mobility. |

Achievements and Performance

Para 1.20 | November & December 2021 the Omicron variant of Covid was increasing. Small meetings were held for those who wished to attend. February 2022 group still concerned over Covid. 9 meetings held – low attendance. March and April, 14 meetings held and then the group closed due to Covid. May, June and July normal meetings 3 times a week. Group closed August due to Covid concerns in group. September and October 2022 normal meetings 3 times a week. The Charity has made a difference to older people living alone by ensuring that, despite the difficulty presented by Covid, older people have maintained connections with their friends and wider community. The gentle exercise group has provided sessions every week during term time to help the oldest most frail with their mobility. |
