Parentkind constitution adopted 16 October 2025 Type of governing document

Should a vacancy arise during the year, then an (eg. appointed by, elected by) EGM is held to fill the vacancy.

How the charity is constituted

Additional governance issues (Optional information)

You may choose to include additional information, where relevant, about:

We work closely with the school to understand the school’s needs. The school’s head teacher attends the majority of the Trustees’ meetings, which enables two-way communication, ensuring that we are working together to fulfil the school’s needs whilst also ensuring that our purpose (as defined in the constitution) is met.

All parents/carers of pupils at the school, and teachers, are made aware of the dates, times and locations of the Trustees’ meetings and are invited to attend.

When fundraising events are hosted, all parents/carers of pupils at the school are asked to volunteer/donate/attend etc depending on the event.

Section C Objectives and activities

The objects are to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:

Summary of the objects of the 1. Developing effective relationships between staff, parents and charity set out in its others associated with the school governing document

We keep in mind the Charity’s Commission’s guidance on public benefit when planning events / when we consider what we are going to fund.

Our main activities are to:

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)

We have two Trustees who tirelessly apply for grants / funding which the school could benefit from, and we are very appreciative of their substantial efforts.

You may choose to include further statements, where relevant, about:

We are also very grateful for the many volunteers who help out at events during the year. In particular, the Family Fest that we hold every June wouldn’t exist if we couldn’t rely on the sheer number of volunteers who give up their time to help get everything ready and man the stalls on the day. This is an event that we are very proud of – it’s an incredibly enjoyable day for everyone who attends and is the event which raises the largest amount during the year.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Over the year being considered we:
-
provided volunteers to man the book stall at the two parents’
evenings (with the school receiving credit to spend on school
books for each sale)
-
hosted a “Hi-Tea” in October to welcome new parents to the
school. It also aims to reconnect parents with each other at the
start of a new school year, as well as being a fundraising activity.
-
hosted an event at the school’s carol service at the church,
thereby encouraging parents, staff and pupils to meet and
socialise outside of the service. This is also a fundraising activity.
-
set-up an easter hunt for EYFS pupils, provided Easter treats for
all EYFS pupils and hosted an Easter bonnet parade for them.
We also provided small Easter treats for the rest of the school,
handed out by the Easter bunny in the playground at home time.
There are parts of this event which are also a fundraising activity.
-
ran the summer fair (“Family Fest”) which brings together
parents/carers, teachers and pupils for a day of fun and
togetherness. It is also our main fundraising activity for the year.
-
funded a small number of teacher laptops and a new classroom
whiteboard
-
provided small presents for Santa to give to all pupils at
Christmas
-
provided funding for an author to visit the school during STEM
week
-
provided funding for competition prizes for a STEM week poster
competition
-
purchased balls for EYFS pupils
-
purchased new books for the school library
-
provided funding for a new PA system for the school
-
provided funding for new footstools for the library (which was
regenerated by the PTA in the previous financial year)
-
provided pupils with the opportunity to select a gift for a
parent/carer for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. This is also a
fundraising activity as donations as invited.
We also raised funds through:
- manning the bar at the year 3/4 performance and the year 6
performance
- providing a PTA stall at the church’s annual beer fest.
- getting the pupils to draw self-portraits, which parents could then
purchase once printed onto tea towels, mugs etc
- selling ice creams in the playground after school
- getting the pupils to design Christmas cards which can then be ordered
and purchased
- running a disco for the pupils and selling tickets to attend
- taking orders for and selling Christmas trees for a profit
As well as running events to raise funds, we also take the opportunity to
build up funds from other sources and over the year took benefit from:
-
Easyfundraising
-
Just Giving
-
Parental donations
-
Commission from nametags
-
Selling second hand uniform through Cress
-
Asda cashpot
-
Donations from local companies
We were also successful in winning grants from Warburtons (£400) and
the National Lottery (£5,174).
