## **Description of the charity’s trusts**

Parentkind constitution adopted 16 October 2025 Type of governing document

- (eg. trust deed, constitution)

Unincorporated association How the charity is constituted (eg. trust, association, company) Trustees are appointed or reappointed annually at the AGM, which is Trustee selection methods typically held in October. Should a vacancy arise during the year, then an (eg. appointed by, elected by) EGM is held to fill the vacancy.

How the charity is constituted

## **Additional governance issues (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant, about:

- policies and procedures adopted for the induction and training of trustees;

- the charity’s organisational structure and any wider network with which the charity works;

We work closely with the school to understand the school’s needs. The school’s head teacher attends the majority of the Trustees’ meetings, which enables two-way communication, ensuring that we are working together to fulfil the school’s needs whilst also ensuring that our purpose (as defined in the constitution) is met.

All parents/carers of pupils at the school, and teachers, are made aware of the dates, times and locations of the Trustees’ meetings and are invited to attend.

When fundraising events are hosted, all parents/carers of pupils at the school are asked to volunteer/donate/attend etc depending on the event.

- relationship with any related parties;

- trustees’ consideration of major risks and the system and procedures to manage them.

## **Section C Objectives and activities**

The objects are to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:

**Summary of the objects of the** 1. Developing effective relationships between staff, parents and **charity set out in its** others associated with the school **governing document**

2. Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

We keep in mind the Charity’s Commission’s guidance on public benefit when planning events / when we consider what we are going to fund.

Our main activities are to:

- provide opportunities for parents/carers to meet up (usually with their children in tow), and an example of how we’ve done this during the year is the Hi Tea event in October

- provide opportunities for parents/carers to connect with teachers and examples of this during the year are the EYFS Easter activities, at the carol concert and at the Family Fest.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

- provide direct funding to the school for equipment needed and an example of this was the EYFS balls that we funded this year

- provide activities to advance the education of the pupils, and an example of this is the funding for the author visit during STEM week.

- engage in activities which support the school, and an example of this is the volunteers that we provided to man the book stalls at parents’ evenings.

## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

We have two Trustees who tirelessly apply for grants / funding which the school could benefit from, and we are very appreciative of their substantial efforts.

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

We are also very grateful for the many volunteers who help out at events during the year. In particular, the Family Fest that we hold every June wouldn’t exist if we couldn’t rely on the sheer number of volunteers who give up their time to help get everything ready and man the stalls on the day. This is an event that we are very proud of – it’s an incredibly enjoyable day for everyone who attends and is the event which raises the largest amount during the year.

- contribution made by volunteers.
