Other Achievements and Perforniance Transferring £62.900 to Tehila Zambla for their work in advancing the charity's aims. Tehila Zambia's vlslon is to see a world where children are safe, thriving and celebrated, by creating safe environmerrts that protecti provlde and seek justice for children. Main achievements and benefits in Zambla: Prevention Initialives Justice Training This is an introductory training to child protection which is premised on justscè which is one of the core values of Tehila. This training is intended for d)urch and communty leaders who have had no experience in thild prOteCtn. The Justi Training is a vision casting for child safeguarding. Those who get motivated are then invited to proceed to the Safe Places training and later undergo a two to six months mentoring program. Safe Places training The Safe Places training is a 34ay child protection workshop. followed by a &month mentoring period offered to churches, schools. and organizations that are cxjmmitted to Creating safer environments for the children they come into contsct with. The Safe Places Training covers the following Children and Childhood within the contexts of the parhcipants Understanding child abuse Understanding Child Safeguarding Recognizing and responding to child abuse Making your church or organization safer for children Making your community safer for children Creating a safeguarding action Plan Parenting A parenting manual was developed, adapted from Bethany Children's Trust for the Zambian context. Parenting is a program that Iwks at strengthening family relationships. for our children. Boys and Girfs Mentoring Wise Ways- Boys Mentoring Tehila believes in helping young people to safeguard themselves. The Wise Ways intervention was piloted in 2023. The program was piloted with pupils from Kline School, one of our partner sthools in Zambia. We engaged with 20 boys aged 9 15 years. in the boys-to-men mentoring program and the forms were given to the identified 20 boys to take to their parents for consent. Guiding boys through their teen yeaTS toward healthy manhood is the goal of Wise ways. Flourish - Girls Mentoring The Girls Mentoring program was developed in nSultatiOn with six pupils aged 14- 16 years from Kline Scho. The Girls. mentoring program was developed by VIVA Intemational. and it has been contextualised to the tocal needs. The 22 recruited girls provided input on the tOPiL covered in the Ilourish materials and what other topic they would like covered in the mentoring sessions. This program was piloted during the year. Tough Talks Tough Talks are a series of story-based flipbooks that addsS taboo topics with children in an age appropriate and Child friendty way. Children are taught key safety messages within the story. Touch Talk addresses the topic of sexual abuse and Pom Talk addresses the dangers of pomography. Bully Talk has been developed to deixease the prevalence of anti-bultying and promote safe environment for children. Counselling The Shalom Centre, located at the Tehila main Office in Lusaka and community hubs is the space that we use to provide psychosocial support to child survivors of abuse and their families. Cases are reported to the Shalom through churches, schools, organisations, family and others. Our counsellors were trained by Petra Institute using The Walking with Wounded Children module. Those trained included 2 Tehila staff. and 6 communty volunteers from the various platforms where Shalom xjmmunty hubs will be established.
