Our main activitie5 and who we try to benefit are de5uibed in this Report. Like many small village charities, the reporting period has been dominated by the restrirtions imposed due to Covid. Throughout the year our charitable activities have focused on the preservation and long-term use of the 8irstall Community Centre and are undertaken to further our charitable purposes forthe public benefit. lft order to ensure the continued use of the building for the community the Charity continued to benefit from a lease negotiated with Kirklees Metropolitan Council to retain the village Lj'brary. The continued receipt of seNice charges from the Council together wtth available 80vernment grants provided a welcome income stream to offset foreed reductions in user fees after March 2020 during a period when fixed costs had to be met. Trustees have worked extremely hard over the time period to ensure that the building followed all covid restrictions and guidelines to ensure that when we could rtropen we did so safely. | I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2020. As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
