The various apologies for absen were made. namety Nicola Pon( Tom Hylands and Maya Lamanna. The minutes for the previous years AGM were accepted. As required annually the meeting agreed to adopt the model constitution from Policy, Organisation and Rules IPORI in principle. The Groups financial year was confirmed as 151 April to 31st March. 11 was agreed that there should be five members lo be elected lo the Group Trustee Board and that five would be the number for the quorum for each of the Group Scout Council meetings, including the AGM. The GSL and Secbon Leader reports were reviewed. There were no queries raised by the Treasurets reFK)rt and the accounts were approved. Following the resignation of Paul Watson as Chairman earlier in the year, Clive Everest agreed to becorne thew incumbenL The re-appointment was proposed by the GSL and seconded by the Scout Leader. In the absen of Maya Lamanna a request for a Secretary was put to the attendees. Unfortunately no tsker was ft)und and finding a replacement would be addressed in the following months.. Matthew Donaldson agreed to continue as Treasurer. Proposed by the Chaimian, seconded by the GSL. Tom Hylands and Nicola Pont were elected as members of the Trustee Board.. It was agreed that David Mordecai. Chartered Accountant. would continue as the Group Accounts Audrtor. There was no other business, so the meeting closed.

Our young people, leaders, and volunteers have navigated challenges with exceptional courage, staying true to the core principles of adventure, collaboration. and community service. We're thrilled to report a robust and vibrant membership, with our Beavers and Cubs sections experiencing Significant interest and sustained engagement. Currently, 74 enthusiastic young people are part of our group, creating a dynamic blend of fresh faces and experienced members. The waiting lists are a testament to the exceptional work of our section leaders and the compelling experiences we offer. Our annual programme has been a kaleidoscope of exciting experiences. designed to challenge, educate, and inspire. From exhilarating hiking expeditions to immersive camping adventures and action-packed outdoor days. we've clafted opportunities that not only develop critical life skills but also foster lasting friendships and create memorable experiences for our Scouts. Notable highlight5 include.. Group Camp= Our annual gathering was a vibrant celebration of Scoutin8 spirit, uniting all sections in weekend of collaborative learning and adventure. The camp was a testament to our group's unitv, with Scouts of all ages working together, conquering outdoor challenges. and creating lasting memories. Outdoor Adventures= This year has been extraordinary, with our Scouts exploring diverse experiences that push boundaries and build skills. From thrilling sailing expeditior¢s that taught maritime techniques and teamwork, to engaging museum visits that brought history and learning to life, our programme has been anything but ordinary. Highlights included an exciting Monopoly Run through the city. testing navigation and Strategic thinking, and the anticipation building for the World Scout Jamboree 2025 IWSIJ20251. which manyofour Scouts are preparing to attend. Our outdoor activities have been comprehensive, ranging from traditional pursuits like hiking and archery to more unique experiences like rafting and sailing. Each activity is carefully designed to challenge our young people. boost their confidence, and provide opportunities for personal growth and skill development. The Hut Renovation One of the biggest undertakings this year has been the continuation of the renovation of our Scout hut. I want to extend a special thank you to all of the team and our parent helps, who have worked on this project. Your hard work is greatly appreciated by the entire group. Leadership and Volunteers I want to express my sincere thanks to our amazing team of section leaders. This year saw a significant transition in our Cub section. with Stephen stepping down as Cub leader after year5 of outstanding service. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Stephen for his incredible dedication and leadership, which has been instrumental in shaping our Cub pack. Ben has now taken over the role. ensuring continuity and growth. We're delighted that Stephen will continue to support the group as a Trustee, focusing on fundraising initiatives. I would also like to acknowledge our committee members. Clive contr.nues to serve as our Chair, and we welcome Pras3nrba as our newTreasurer, taking overfrom Matthew who is stepping down. Tom remains a valued committee member. We also recognize Chris and Nicola for their past contributions and acknowledge their recent resignation from the Trustees. I cannot forget to thank all the parents who have supported the group this year. Whether you've helped at events, provided transport. or lent a hand in any other way. your involvement is what helps make ourgroup such a success. We are always appreciative ofyourtime and energv. Looking Ahead As we look forward to the coming year. we are excited about our ambitious plans. We aim to continue offering adventurous and challenging opportunities for our young people. All patrols now have 6 scouts. Over the last year we have done= Autumn 2024= Raft Races with District Introduced a yearly Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader camp Walked in the Remembrance parade. with one of our best turn outs We had 3 teams enter Escape and Evasion with distrirt. one the teams came 4, , the highest position we've had Spring 2025: Our first meetr.ng back we chose to do something a bit different with holding an indoor camp instead, and slept over in the hut We took part in the overlander training hike5 Wlth district We took part in the checkpoint challenge with district. which was the lir5t we had done it since I've been in charge. I'm unsure if the group has done this before We took part in the Monopoly Run for the second time with me and Charlotte leading a team each We also took part in the District Scout Quiz Summer 2025: We took the scouts Go-Karting to the new Electric Go Kart track in Burgess Hill We had a team compete in the Mid Sussex challenge hike,. this was the second time we had competed Group camp was a great success. we the most attendees from scouts than we've had before The scouts have started the Earth Tribe badge in Summer, with the hopes to complete in the beginning of this Autumn term We had 14 scouts attend WSIJ2025, which went very well. and I believe that all the scouts the attended really enjoyed it Achievements this past year- The Scouts achieved their Youshape award, with Charlotte leading the charge on this as she is part of the district Youth team. we would have been one o* the first groups in district to achieve this I scout achieved their Chief Scout Gold award. which is one of the top awards you can achieve in scouts Registered Charity number 1176090

Dan- thisyear I have been awarded my indoor nights away PeIt. my outdoor nights away permit and mywood beads Charlotte- Has been a valued member of ourteam, for a fewyears, starting as a young leader, we Sadly in the summer term had say a temporary good bye to her. as she went to travel for a few months before starting her university journey, we do hope to have her back, as and when she is able to Nola- we have warmly welcomed. this year, a new to the section, leader, who comes with tonnes experience. from being in scouts most of her life then becoming a leader in other sections, she chose to then come volurbteer with u5, which we are m05t grateful for New leaders - we have had a couple of parents get involved with the group this past year, but we are always looking for more. so please if anyone can volunteer to help u5, we would be extremely grateful, as this will then help to do more outdoor related fun things for the Scouts. Burgess Hill, West Sussex RH15 OPX Annual General Meeting Wednesday 10th September Cub Leader Report Since I have been shadowing Stephen since May 2026 and transitioried to group leader for the last two sessions of summer 2024, it has given me a fresh perspective in what modern cubs is doing and how far it has progressed since I was last involved 18 years ago! I would like to achieve a few things this year. some of which has its challenges, but with those challenges brings greatest rewards. Firstty, I want to make sure everyone has equal and fair opportunitie5, making sure all of them eventually will have personal responsibilities such as sixer/seconder roles. Wwth badges. run a workshop if/when possible so the cubs can catch up if they miss a week and last would like to see everyone who leaves to join scouts will have achieved their chief scout silver awards. I would also like to mix the 5es5ions so we are not always in the hall. Goalslup coming badges Climbing- pushing their boundaries. Camps- a couple of camps. one being solo cub, the other a group camp. Water activities- A lot of them would like to do more water based activities Increase numbers - we have depleted our waiting list and would like to increase the pack size with an ever increasing Burgess hill. Volunteers/helpers- we have lost a few volunteers and risk being able to do outside activities, so I would like to try and recruit more permanent volunteers or at least have a parent rota if it comes to it. They have also worked towards and been awarded many Challenge badges and Chief Scout's Bronze awards. They have learnt many new Skills, most enjoyably cooking and using liresticks to start a fire.
