Cub Leader Report
Since I have been shadowing Stephen since May 2026 and transitioried to group leader for the
last two sessions of summer 2024, it has given me a fresh perspective in what modern cubs is
doing and how far it has progressed since I was last involved 18 years ago!
I would like to achieve a few things this year. some of which has its challenges, but with those
challenges brings greatest rewards. Firstty, I want to make sure everyone has equal and fair
opportunitie5, making sure all of them eventually will have personal responsibilities such as
sixer/seconder roles. Wwth badges. run a workshop if/when possible so the cubs can catch up if
they miss a week and last￿ would like to see everyone who leaves to join scouts will have
achieved their chief scout silver awards. I would also like to mix the 5es5ions so we are not
always in the hall.
Goalslup coming badges
Climbing- pushing their boundaries.
Camps- a couple of camps. one being solo cub, the other a group camp.
Water activities- A lot of them would like to do more water based activities
Increase numbers - we have depleted our waiting list and would like to increase the pack size
with an ever increasing Burgess hill.
Volunteers/helpers- we have lost a few volunteers and risk being able to do outside activities,
so I would like to try and recruit more permanent volunteers or at least have a parent rota if it
comes to it.
