Our monthly evening meetings continue at the Pig & Pastry. There have been visiting presenters from Yorkshire Fatigue Clinic and And Able to talk about their clothing range and bra fitting sessions. Mostly these evening meetings are a chance for members to come together to talk about life and life with cancer. Our monthly lunches are well attended and give a chance for |
| members to connect and chat and support each other through life with and beyond cancer. Sewn with Love workshops have met 10 months out of 12 and have made around 600 pillows and 350 drain bags which have been donated to the hospital. We celebrated our 9th birthday with an afternoon tea at Impossible in April. At Christmas we had a meal out to celebrate. Our online secure chat group, birthday club and telephone line have continued to operate throughout the year. We have maintained our website and social media presence including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Work continues on updating our website. We had a fundraising craft stall at the Dragon Boat Race event in the summer as well as a stall at a dog show in September. Yoga session started up in February with a slow start of ⅔ members attending. The situation is being monitored and reviewed. |

Para 1.20 | This year has seen a return to normal activity following the Covid pandemic.. Fundraising opportunities have been minimal with a lack of volunteers prepared to support. Our only stalls was at the Dragon Boat racing where we raised £170.42, at a fitness fair where we raised £106 and a Dog Show where we raised £30. We have continued to see a number of donations made as a result of people receiving our heart pillows. 600 Heart Pillows and 350 Drain bags have been delivered to the hospital and these continue to be well received, with many notes of thanks being sent to us. We have received a number of private donations from a range of members of the public and were the recipient of |
funds raised by a local fitness group, which we in turn, referred one of our ladies to and a local art show. . We have seen a steady flow of new members joining us this year with one joining us with the support of her social prescriber. The members have benefitted from a pair of free season tickets to York City FC this season to treat themselves and their family and friends. All but 2 of the home matches were attended by 12 different members.
