Friends of Dunvant Park’s funds at the start of the accounting year totaled £8170.16 represented by £8,004.11 in the bank account and £166.05 petty cash. Funds at the end of the year had increased to £21,888.03 represented by £ 21,612.41 in the bank account and £275.62 petty cash.

As indicated in the detailed financial summary that is attached, these funds are split into two parts:

General Unrestricted Funds which have no restrictions on how they are spent.

Earmarked Grants and Donations which have been awarded for specific purposes and must be spent in an appropriate manner.

General Funds

An income of £196.67 was received in the current year, represented by £76 in membership subscriptions and £120.67 in cake sales at events. Public Liability Insurance costing £157 with Zurich Charities and a contribution of £50 towards the payment of Park Rebound came out of General Funds this year.

Spending plans for the next fnancial year commencing April 1[st] 2024

The City and County of Swansea Council has awarded Friends of Dunvant Park a grant funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. This grant of £16.400 is a committed sum to be used to improve health, fitness and wellbeing of all groups in the community through the installation of goal posts, line painting and maintenance of the football pitch and installation of a bespoke tennis and pickle ball net and court. Quotes have been accepted. Work will commence sometime in April and May 2024. The anticipated grant spend in next the financial year is:
