History of the Charity.
The Charity has been inactive since the meetings with Lynton and Lynmouth Town Council failed to resolve the transfer of ownership of the Town Hall buildings and a service agreement to rent the buildings back.
The national lockdown from March 23[rd] 2020 prevented further meetings.
The Charity has been ‘mothballed’ for the time being as the Chair of the trustees (Dr J B Frankish) moved out of area in 2019 and a new chair has not been ratified.
New trustees have recently been proposed and will be added in December 2020. This did not happen.
All trustees have resigned but informed of the proposed reactivation and new trustees and impending loss of current chairman. This did not happen.
It was planned to be re-activated in 2021 as a fundraising charity in support of the Lynton and Lynmouth community estates with particular regard to the Town Hall buildings. The ownership of the Town hall buildings is still possible but will need further clarification and agreement with the officers of the Town Council. A new Chairman will facilitate this in 2021unfortunately due to covid and other distractions no action was taken and the charity CIO has folded.
