Achievements and challenges
During the past year Hexham Community Association has been able to accomplish the following which has brought some improvements to the Centre.

Advanced Music Lessons Beginners Music Sessons
Arts Classes for children: Funding was also provided for Arts lessons for children
Challenges
-
The Association is still functioning under a reduced budget of £10,000 from the Council The Association Still struggled to recruit volunteers. This has had an impact on the
-
extent to which the programmes can be extended to many more residents.
-
Bookings for use of facilities at the Community Centre has decreased considerably compared to the previous year. This has been due to complaints from the neighbours’ about noise. This has been resolved through the intervention of the council. We now have a better customer services approach, better facilities and a very clean environment.
The trustees want to also take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers for the wonderful job they have done over the year.
FUTURE PLANS
1. Extend program to Staverton Road
2. Advertising activities of Hexham to the wider community
3. Getting residents to be more active
4. Community sports between the estates
6. Winter Warmth project for the elderly
8. Re- establishment of Skills and Fitness project for 8-13 years
