Petersfield Lions Club Trustee Report 01/07/24-30/06/25

Petersfield Lions club have supported individual people and other charitable organisations, primarily in the Petersfield area and Lions International Foundation

The funds are raised by holding events throughout the year and public donations. All decisions by the club regarding financial grants are voted by members and ratified by trustees.

Health

The club continued giving financial support to provide physiotherapy for a local child.Money is raised by holding a quiz.

Members continue to help marshalling for Covid and Flu vaccinations for the local NHS. The club continues to finance and distribute Message in a bottle and wallet. Naomi house received approximately £600 as a result of a swishing party

Queen Alexander hospital cancer received financial support following a stall at the Chistmas market.

Sight

Used spectacles are collected locally and sorted and graded for distribution in third world countries.

Poverty

The club donate a monthly amount to the local food bank Local people have had financial help with fuel bills.

Some local families have received meat vouchers from a local butcher at Christmas and some received school uniform vouchers. These were done in conjunction with with Home Start.

Youth

The club supported a local

School taking part in the Lions International Peace Poster competition.

A new venture saw the club hold a Lion Hunt around the local heath and pond. This was free to enter for local school children and provided a fun summer holiday activity. The local cafe donated a free ice cream to participants.

The club took local children to Marvell park for a days outing

Charities cooperation

This year we worked with the local Rosemary Foundation on 2 fundraising events, an afternoon tea and an Indian buffet. Both very successful
