Section C Objectives and activities
Beacon Park Tennis is a charity which is run by a group of trustees elected on 3-year terms at the Annual General Meeting.
We have no members but exist to serve the community by raising funding to resurface and manage the tennis courts in Lichfield’s Beacon Park. The primary objective of BPT was to ensure we secured enough funding to complete the resurfacing project and, once confirmed, to manage the project itself with suitable contractors.
Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its Now resurfacing is completed, our aim is to manage the court pricing and governing document availability for the public, promote wellbeing and physical activity and support local schools and clubs for tennis and netball.
In deciding which activities to run this year the trustees of BPT have considered the guidance issued by the charity commission on public benefit and balanced this against the primary objective. In addition, we were mindful of the impact of the pandemic and restrictions placed on our team and customers
