church summer fayre and the other at our annual
commemoration which we host at the memorial plaque to
Charles Rolls in the private grounds of St Peter’s School.
PublicationsThree newsletters were issued. The CRHT
book ‘Bournemouth The Aviation Pioneers and Rolls of
Rolls-Royce’ sells in small quantities via Amazon and at
talks. A reprint of our 8 page booklet provides a lower
cost sale. A free trifold provides a short summary of the

Para 1.18 All activities are designed to raise the public profile of

the model gliders. Not taken up this year.
Policy on social investment
including program related
investment
Para 1.38 No plans for this

Para 1.38 Trustees and committee volunteers give their time to
run the Trust and activities as necessary, the delivery
of illustrated talks being helpful in generating funds
and educating the public in various community groups.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Eight talks were given by a Trustee in person to
various community organisations which included
one on Rolls, one on the meeting of Rolls and
Royce (120thanniversary) and 6 other talks
prefaced by a slide explaining the Trust.
The four planned newsletters were reduced to
three because of time available to give to the Trust.
The heritage sculpture has performed well in its site
which gives excellent public access, adjacent to a
bus stop, car park and cafe at Hengistbury Head on
the eastern boundary of the 1910 airfield. The
materials chosen for the structure have stood up
well to the challenging weather conditions. An
article about the heritage sculpture and its unveiling
was published in ‘The Journal’ of the Rolls-Royce
Heritage Trust.
Some artefacts are held by Trustees and displayed
when public events make this appropriate. A major
artefact of a private photo album containing unique
pictures of the 1910 aviation meeting was acquired
in November 2023 but paid for in FY24/25

Additional information (optional) You may choose to include further statements where relevant about:

Achievements against
objectives set
Para 1.41 This financial year was about consolidation and
monitoring the new sculpture. A new venture was
decided on for FY 25/26 to provide Q&A sessions at the
sculpture

Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives
set
Para 1.41 Fundraising objectives are not set as such but
discussed at Trustee meetings.
Apart from book sales and donations, the main fund
generator of talks provided two thirds of the income.
Trustee and associate donations were at a reduced
level.
Investment performance
against objectives
Para 1.41 The Trust does not hold any investments. The project
account with reserved funds was switched to an interest
bearing account in March 2025 as the need for annual
expenditure was minimal and had been covered by the
general account.
