**Illustrated**talks to local organisations including

**Heritage Sculpture**Monitoring and occasional cleaning
of the 2.5m heritage sculpture unveiled on Tuesday 12
July 2022 by the Mayor of Bournemouth in a public area
by a café and a bus stop with good footfall from residents
and visitors alike. The 3 sided sculpture celebrates
Charles Rolls and the first lnternational Aviation Meeting
of 1910 and links events with aviation today using the
theme of Rolls-Royce aero engines.
**Archive**of information held on loan by the Heritage Zone
at Bournemouth Central Library.
**Events**Two events this year – one a stall with newly
acquired display boards and roller banner at the local
church summer fayre and the other at our annual
commemoration which we host at the memorial plaque to
Charles Rolls in the private grounds of St Peter’s School.
**Publications**Three newsletters were issued. The CRHT
book ‘Bournemouth The Aviation Pioneers and Rolls of
Rolls-Royce’ sells in small quantities via Amazon and at
talks. A reprint of our 8 page booklet provides a lower
cost sale. A free trifold provides a short summary of the
Trust, Rolls and the Meeting| |Statement confirming

prefaced by a slide explaining the Trust.
The four planned newsletters were reduced to
three because of time available to give to the Trust.
The heritage sculpture has performed well in its site
which gives excellent public access, adjacent to a
bus stop, car park and cafe at Hengistbury Head on
the eastern boundary of the 1910 airfield. The
materials chosen for the structure have stood up
well to the challenging weather conditions. An
article about the heritage sculpture and its unveiling
was published in ‘The Journal’ of the Rolls-Royce
Heritage Trust.
Some artefacts are held by Trustees and displayed
when public events make this appropriate. A major
artefact of a private photo album containing unique
pictures of the 1910 aviation meeting was acquired
