Trustees’ Annual Report for the period

From August 2023 to July 2024

Charity name: Tingley Athletic FC Limited Charity registration number: 1174539

Objectives and Activities

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation, in particular the provision of facilities for the playing of association football in the Tingley area.

The club has run football teams for both Girls and Boys football teams from under 7s through to u16s. We provide competitions for all age groups and offer further opportunities for individuals to develop knowledge and experience in the field of team managing and coaching.

We have continued to provide football activities for those children under the age of 7 or new to football through our Saturday Soccer Academy and the girls Wildcats programs.

In addition to these junior teams, we have maintained open age male teams for this season. We encourage the football for all approach of fair play and sportsmanship and we praise effort and performance more than results.

The Trustees keep in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit at all Trustee and manger / coaches’ meetings.

The club could not function without the hard work and commitment of our volunteers. Trustees, Managers, Coaching and Grounds Staff all give up their free time to help make our club run.

Achievements and Performance

During the 2023/24 season we affiliated twenty-one junior boy’s teams, eleven girl’s teams and one open age men’s team, totalling 410 players. We were able to safely provide training and matches for our players. Through the club’s activities we have provided a healthy recreation for our players.

The club has seen an increase in players this season for these reasons we have extended our portfolio of 11v11 pitches through Leeds city council and currently rent Spinkwell & East Ardsley recreation ground on Saturday & Sunday mornings to ensure we have the capacity for our players.

The club has continued to invest in our facilities with improvement projects at The Crescent and Cave Lane this has been funded through the Football Foundation by the way of a 5-year Grant we are currently in our fourth year. The club was also successful in applying for a further Football Foundation Equipment Grant, meaning we were able to purchase more up to date goal posts and equipment to enhance our player’s game.

We have encountered the wettest season on record meaning a number of games played during the winter months were unplayable on our grass pitches due to them been waterlogged and therefore unsafe. The trustees took the decision to hire out 3G facilities to not disrupt the playing time for our teams. This did impact on our sales through our onsite tuck shop due to the site not being open, however we held a big fundraising event in a June which generated much needed funds.

The Club trustees would once again like to thank all our players, parents, coaches & volunteers for their hard work and support this year.
