ORGANISATION Under the terms of the Constrtuts'on. the current President &￿etary Treasurer of the Bexhill-on-sea ons Club are Trustees for one year although are eligitAe fcf r&aFpointment, plus up to nine other members of the dub as elected by the club may serve for up to four years. The Trustees seNed during the year under review are set out on Page 1. Meetings of the Trustees are ￿UallY held monthly following the Club's business meeting FINANCIAL REVIEW In the year under review. incy)me from fundraBing aclivrties totalled £19.575. Fundraisi￿ costs V￿re £7,730 and so the net income generated vrds £11,845. Donations, a￿drdS distributed and spending on charitatrle actrvtties totalled £24,511 {2023 £ 11.(X)71. RESERVES POLICY At their regular meetings the Trustees receive reFK)rts of income and expenditure related to the activrties of the Club. BEXHILL4)NSEA LIONS CLUB {CIO) REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES (continued) RISK MANAGEMENT The Trustees have examined the major strategic and operats.onal risks which the charty faces and confirm that systems have been established to enable regular report5 to be produced so that necessary steps can be taken to minimise these risks. As a part of this process. the Trustees take advice from officers appointed by Lions District 105SE to ensure compliance wrth legislation concerning health and safety and the protection of vulnerable persons. The Trustees also keep their insurance policies under review and take advice from Lions, insurance advisors. TRUSTEES. RESPONSIBILITIES Law applicable in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the chantys financial acb"vrties during the year and of its financial posttion at the end of the year. In preparing thesè financial ststements. the Trustees are rèquired to.. select suitsble accounting policies and then apply them Consistently- maké Judgements and èstimates that are reasonable and prudent., stste whether applicable accounting standards and statements of reComrr￿nded practice havé been followed subject to any departure disclosed and explained in the financial statements.. and prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropnate lo assume that the charty will conts'nue its actNrties. The Trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which dis¢lose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charty and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply wth the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularrties.
