LORD’S LARDER – CHARD
CHARITY NUMBER – 1174334
CHAIRPERSONS REPORT 2020.
As a charity, the Lord’s Larder was sadly needed more than ever before in 2020 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic which left so many families in great need. However, the generosity of the local community as well as local and national organisations meant that we received both food and monetary donations to meet this increased demand. The Lord’s Larder worked with other local volunteers to ensure that food parcels could be collected or delivered where necessary. The Lord’s Larder used the Methodist Church Hall during lockdown so that more space was available for extra bag packing and to allow for fridges and freezers to be used to store generous donations from supermarkets. We are very grateful to all those who worked tirelessly to provide for the extra demands placed on the Lord’s Larder during the worst of the pandemic. Thank you to all volunteers who gave their valuable time to ensure that we could meet the unprecedented needs of the local community.

Independent Examination of the accounts of above charity for 2020
My examination was carried out in accordance with general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the account records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanation from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a “trust and fails” view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below
In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect
Accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the charities act
Or that
The accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have come across no other matter in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached
