To advance the education of the public and to encourage and advance the interest and involvement of the public, with particular emphasis on children and young people regardless of their needs or abilities, in all aspects of the musical and dramatic arts by producing and presenting works, concerts or festivals in any medium for the benefit of the public.

Having regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit, we organise an annual music festival which usually includes a children's opera, an opera/opera extracts performed by a mixture of professional and amateur artists, workshops by professional artists, and, sometimes, a lecture on a music-related subject. The children's opera is organised with the cooperation of the local Cross Ash Junior School. The children are engaged in all aspects of presentation from set design, stage management and promotion to performing with professional artists. Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
We have established a day of musical workshops geared at youngsters and adult amateurs. These amateurs can bring their pieces and instruments and be instructed and accompanied by the professionals. Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” turned into a community production with a local adult chorus (some singing small parts) and children’s chorus, all performing alongside professional singers, orchestral members and conductor.
Outside of the festival period we organised musical afternoon tea concerts giving youngsters the opportunity to perform their pieces in an informal set up, to prepare them for future more formal concerts.

A financial reserve is necessary because:
