people as possible to worship at our church and become part of our
church community. The trustees review the worship, teaching and
facilities throughout the church and make suggestions on how our
services can involve the many groups that live within our community.
When planning our activities throughout the year the trustees have
considered the Commissions guidance on public benefit and in
particular, the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of
religion. We try to enable ordinary people to live out their faith as part
of our church community through worship and prayer, learning the
gospel and developing their knowledge and trust in Jesus as well as
receiving pastoral care and taking part in outreach activities.
We hold weekly meetings on a Sunday; these meetings are open to all
and we actively advertise these meetings online for all to see as well as
encourage all who attend to invite friends, family and members of the
general public that they meet. These meetings include a time of
worship, teaching and prayer.
We also hold small group meetings for all who express an interest on a
weekly basis, these meetings include further teaching and study as well
as personal support and relationship building. we actively encourage
all those who attend to extend the invitation to anyone they know who
may be interested and we have had people visiting as well as those
who are part of the church community already.
We hold prayer meetings which are open to all who show an interest
and can cover local and national issues. These are a great place to put
our faith into action and through the power of prayer make a real
difference to our community, country and even further afield. We are
specifically committed to pray regularly for those God has put on our
hearts and for our community.
We have organised community events throughout the year, including
BBQ’s, Cinema evenings and craft events. These events are
advertised online and open to the general public with the intention of
inputting into the community and nurturing strong relationships and
community ties. We have built good relationships during these events
and well as serving our community.
We have provided financial support to enable some people to attend
our meetings.

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

We initially held fortnightly meetings for the general public on a Sunday, however after reflection the trustees identified a need in those attending for more regular large group meetings and to meet this need we now have weekly Sunday meetings.

During these meetings we hold a time of worship and much consideration has taken place within the style of worship to enable people with different tastes and preferences to worship God freely.

Throughout the year we have given much consideration to the provision of activities and spiritual input into the children who come to our meetings and we now have an area within the meeting room specifically for children to come and interact together with toys and crafts.

Much consideration has gone into the visibility of Latitude Church, making it easier for the general public to see where we are and come to our meetings. We have invested in banners, signage, business cards and increased communication on social media.

The number of people attending our meetings has increased from 20 to an average of 30 . And during special services including guest Speakers, Christmas and Easter services, this number has increased to as much as 50 people.
