Key Aehievements Visltor Aeeess & Engagement - The Column, Visitor Centre and Café were Success￿l1Y reopened after a ten-year closure. - Volunteers supported safe access to the Column through a managed climbing systenj. - Inte￿retatiOn was provided on the site's bistory and geological importance. Educatlon & Communlty Actlvlty - Educational sessions were delivered for schools and university groups. - Talks and community-based activities consistent with clwitable obj¢ctiv¢s w¢re off¢r¢d. Volunteering - Re¢ruitm¢nt and training continu¢d across ward¢n, caf¢, rang¢r and l¢arning Tol¢5. - Volunteer management was strengthened through improved scheduling and communication tools Operational Transition & Capacity During the year, the Trustees engaged an independent adviser (October 2024) to support the tran51tion following the departure of the previous manager. After a period of review and operational support, the adviser wa5 appointed as Site Manager in January 2025 to provide contknuity and ensure the effective running of the newly reopened heritage site. This strengthened operational capacity during the Trust's first ￿11 year of public opening. All fundraising activity was conducted by Trustees, staff and volunteers in accordance with the Fundraising Code of Practice. No fundraising complaillts were received during the year. FllYANCIAL REVIEW Finaneial position 2024125 was financially challenging as the Trnst moved from project delivery to operating a heritage site. At 31 March 2025.. Restricted funds: £9,302 - UnTestricted funds: deficit of £955 Unexpected essential costs, including maintenance and operational need5 following the site'5 restOTation, impacted the financial position. The investment policy is being reviewed. Reserves policy Thc Trust aims to hold unrestricted TCSCTV¢S equivalent to 3-6 months of operating ¢xpenditur¢. As at 31 Mhr¢h 2025: - This target had not yet been &chi¢ved. - No designated reserves account exist¢d during the reporting ycar. Building reserves is a board priority for 2025126.
