Introduction

The Kerala Cultural Association (KCA) successfully completed another year of cultural, social, and community activities during 2024–2025. Through the collective efforts of the Executive Committee, volunteers, members, sponsors, and well-wishers, the Association organised a variety of events that promoted Kerala’s cultural heritage, strengthened community ties, and encouraged participation across all age groups.

This report presents a summary of the major activities and achievements of the Association during the year.

Activities and Events

Easter–Vishu Celebration

The Association organised its Easter–Vishu Celebration on 13 April 2024 at Newcastle Academy School . The event brought together members and families to celebrate two important occasions in the cultural and religious calendar. A variety of cultural performances and entertainment programmes were presented, creating an atmosphere of joy and fellowship.

Community Gathering

A community meeting and cultural gathering were held on 11 May 2024 at the Quaker Meeting House, Miller Street . The event provided members with an opportunity to discuss Association activities, strengthen community relationships, and participate in cultural programmes.

One-Day Family Tour

Following a decision taken at the Executive Committee meeting on 25 May 2024 , a special recreational trip for members was organised.

Onam Celebration 2024

KCA celebrated Onam 2024 on 14 September 2024 at Newcastle Academy School under the leadership of President Mr. Sutheesh Thomas .

The event featured traditional Onam festivities, cultural performances, competitions, and a grand Onam feast. Members of all ages actively participated in the celebrations.

Dance Performance Programme

On 27 October 2024 , students of the Dharshanodiyaa School of Dance , under the guidance of Miss Sureka Kanesan , presented a colourful dance programme. The event showcased the talent and dedication of the students and highlighted the Association’s commitment to promoting arts and cultural education.

KCA 20th Anniversary Celebration

The year marked a significant milestone as the Kerala Cultural Association celebrated its 20th Anniversary (2004–2024) .

To commemorate this achievement, a grand Christmas and New Year Celebration was organised on 29 December 2024 at Whitmore Village Hall .

The event was a memorable occasion that celebrated the Association’s achievements while looking forward to future growth and continued service to the community.

KCA Academy and Cultural Development

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/07/2025

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have examiner's statement come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

During the examination, supporting invoices and receipts were provided for review. A small number of receipts were faded and difficult to read; however, all related transactions were satisfactorily verified against the accounting records and bank statements.

In connection with my examination, no matters have come to my attention which give me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 have not been met.

The trustees were reminded of the Charity Commission’s requirements regarding the retention of clear and legible evidence to support financial transactions.
