## **Introduction** 

The Kerala Cultural Association (KCA) successfully completed another year of cultural, social, and community activities during 2024–2025. Through the collective efforts of the Executive Committee, volunteers, members, sponsors, and well-wishers, the Association organised a variety of events that promoted Kerala’s cultural heritage, strengthened community ties, and encouraged participation across all age groups. 

This report presents a summary of the major activities and achievements of the Association during the year.

## **Activities and Events** 

## **Easter–Vishu Celebration** 

The Association organised its Easter–Vishu Celebration on **13 April 2024** at **Newcastle Academy School** . The event brought together members and families to celebrate two important occasions in the cultural and religious calendar. A variety of cultural performances and entertainment programmes were presented, creating an atmosphere of joy and fellowship. 

## **Community Gathering** 

A community meeting and cultural gathering were held on **11 May 2024** at the **Quaker Meeting House, Miller Street** . The event provided members with an opportunity to discuss Association activities, strengthen community relationships, and participate in cultural programmes. 



## **One-Day Family Tour** 

Following a decision taken at the Executive Committee meeting on **25 May 2024** , a special recreational trip for members was organised. 

The **One-Day Family Tour** took place on **22 June 2024** at **Prestatyn Central Beach** . The programme was coordinated by:

- Mr. Rinto Rockey 

- Mr. James Thomas 

The event was well attended and provided members with an enjoyable opportunity to socialise and spend quality time together. Refreshments, meals, and desserts were generously arranged for participants, contributing to the overall success of the outing. 

## **Onam Celebration 2024** 

KCA celebrated **Onam 2024** on **14 September 2024** at **Newcastle Academy School** under the leadership of President **Mr. Sutheesh Thomas** . 

The event featured traditional Onam festivities, cultural performances, competitions, and a grand Onam feast. Members of all ages actively participated in the celebrations.

- Special performance by **Mrs. Darshikka Rajasegaram** , Dance Teacher of KCA Kalakendram 

- Traditional Onam Sadhya coordinated by **Mr. Biju Matthews** and his team 

- Games and competitions for children and adults 

- Musical performances, dances, and stage presentations by KCA members 

- Opening dance coordinated by **Mr. Rinto Rockey** 

- Extensive volunteer support throughout the event 

## **Special Recognition** 

Special appreciation was extended to: 



- Mrs. Darshikka Rajasegaram 

- Dance instructors and volunteers 

- All competition winners and participants 

The programme's success was made possible through the dedicated efforts of committee members, volunteers, and supporters, including:

- Mr. Asish Jose 

and many other volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. 

## **Dance Performance Programme** 

On **27 October 2024** , students of the **Dharshanodiyaa School of Dance** , under the guidance of **Miss Sureka Kanesan** , presented a colourful dance programme. The event showcased the talent and dedication of the students and highlighted the Association’s commitment to promoting arts and cultural education. 

## **KCA 20th Anniversary Celebration** 

The year marked a significant milestone as the Kerala Cultural Association celebrated its **20th Anniversary (2004–2024)** . 

To commemorate this achievement, a grand **Christmas and New Year Celebration** was organised on **29 December 2024** at **Whitmore Village Hall** . 

## **Programme Highlights** 

- Welcome address by President **Mr. Sutheesh Thomas** 

- Anniversary celebrations recognising KCA’s twenty years of service to the community 

- Christmas carols and festive cultural performances 

- Special musical entertainment coordinated by **Film Artist Mr. Sudheer Paravoor** 

- Christmas and New Year themed presentations 



- Event management and coordination by **Mrs. Sherin Joy** and **Mrs. Subha Rajan** 

- Participation of students from **KCA Kalakendram** and **Dharshanodiyaa School of Dance** 

The event was a memorable occasion that celebrated the Association’s achievements while looking forward to future growth and continued service to the community. 

## **KCA Academy and Cultural Development** 

KCA continued to support cultural education through its Academy programmes. Students actively participated in various cultural activities throughout the year, demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm and talent. 

The Association acknowledges the invaluable contributions of: 

- Mrs. Sophy Kuriakose (Administrator) 

- Mrs. Nimmy Shiju (Coordinator) 

- Mrs. Sherin Joy (Coordinator) 

- Mrs. Subha Rajan (Coordinator) 

for their dedication and commitment to nurturing cultural learning and participation among children and young people.

## **Conclusion** 

The year 2024–2025 was a productive and memorable period for the Kerala Cultural Association. Through cultural celebrations, educational initiatives, community gatherings, charitable efforts, and family-oriented activities, KCA continued to strengthen community spirit and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Kerala within the wider community. 

The Association looks forward to another successful year of service, growth, and cultural enrichment.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31/07/2025** 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

**Independent** I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have **examiner's statement** come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

During the examination, supporting invoices and receipts were provided for review. A small number of receipts were faded and difficult to read; however, all related transactions were satisfactorily verified against the accounting records and bank statements. 

In connection with my examination, no matters have come to my attention which give me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 have not been met. 

The trustees were reminded of the Charity Commission’s requirements regarding the retention of clear and legible evidence to support financial transactions.
