TRUSTEE REPORT 2021/2022

We are pleased to present the trustee report for OGHCSRC, highlighting the progress we have made in the past year. Despite the challenges of the global rise in the cost of living, we have made significant improvements to our facilities and have continued to engage with our local communities.

During the accounts period under review, the primary focus of the Charity was to operate and maintain the Sports pitch, Soft Play area, Café facility, and sports & recreational activities throughout the year, including holidays, evenings and weekends.

We are committed to providing the residents of Oldham and the surrounding areas with highquality facilities for leisure, recreation, and sport. Our aim is to maintain a safe, pleasant and fit-for-purpose space that meets the needs of our community.

Facility Improvements:

We have made significant progress in improving our facilities. We have installed a brand new 4G pitch, which has been a great addition to our sports facilities. The pitch has been well received by our visitors and we continue to take bookings.

We have also modernised our cafe, play area, and toilet facilities, which has improved the overall experience for our visitors. The modernisation of our facilities has been a significant investment, but we believe it was necessary to provide a safe and welcoming environment for our visitors. We appreciate the support from the external funders

Challenges:

As mentioned earlier, we are facing challenges due to the global rise in the cost of living. However, we have a good workforce who work collaboratively to overcome these challenges. We are also grateful for the support we receive from our local communities. We have been able to manage our finances effectively, and we are confident that we can continue to provide high-quality services to our visitors.

Community Engagement:

We have been successful in increasing the footfall of the centre by organising projects and events to engage with our communities. We have a diverse demographic and appeal to people of all ages, culture, orientation, and backgrounds.

We encourage social justice and empower our people to make better of themselves. We have organised several events, including sports tournaments, cultural festivals, and educational workshops. These events have been well received by our visitors and we have seen an increase in the number of people visiting the centre.

To achieve these plans, OGHCSRC will need to secure funding through grants, donations, and fundraising events. The organisation will also need to continue to recruit and train volunteers to help with the day-to-day operations and management of the facilities. In conclusion, we have made significant progress in the past year and have continued to improve our facilities and engage with our communities.
