This specifically includes the internal care of the community's village hall building and the provision of services in that building, and leasing out the village shop attached to the hall. The Trustees are committed to enabling as many people as possible to a¢$$ the facilities provided by the village hall.

Para 120 The Trustèes are pleased with the hall's perfom)anGe over the course of 2022123. Demand for hiring the building continues to be maintained and running costs have been covered which has been a challenge with hugely incr8as8d energy ¢osts. Signtficant expensditure has been incurred on new ovens and refurbishing the wooden floors during the year to ensure the hall is kept in good condition. Special events and regular classes held in the hall have attracted large numbers of visitors to the Hall. The hall continued to host a Communty Cafe twice a vek, which included 6 hours a Yek attendan by an Outreach Post Office. The hall is a Licensed Premises. The shop conts'nues to be a great asset to the residents. The Trustees have continued the distn'bution of the shop rent equally to Bulphan Church. Shop rental income was received for the whole year and this enabled the Trustees to distribute that in¢om8 amongst the four local organisations that benefft from 25% share eath of the rent. Thè Hall is of the oroanisgtions to recerve a 250k distribution of the shop ntal income which has enabled the Hall to absorb the higher energy costs without raisin9 hire charges to local people and organisations. A description of the principal risks facing the Chanty Para 1.46 The Trustees heed advice given by RCCE and Thurrock Council regarding major risks and procedures to manage them. The principal risk facing the Trustèes was coping with the energy crisis and ensuring the Hall was maintained to good standards to avoid heatth and safety risks to the public.
