The Charity runs and maintains Birdwood House a grade II listed building on Totnes High Street. The building is used for education and leisure activities for the benefit of local people. The gallery on the ground floor has a weekly changing exhibition of work by local artists.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(1) To Promote For The Benefit Of The Public The Conservation, Protection, Maintenance, Repair And Improvement Or Enlargement Of The Grade Ii Listed Building Known As Birdwood House At 44, High St Totnes Devon.(2) To Further Or Benefit The Residents Of Totnes, Devon And The Neighbourhood, Without Distinction Of Sex, Sexual Orientation, Race Or Of Political, Religious Or Other Opinions By Associating Together The Said Residents And The Local Authorities, Voluntary And Other Organisations In A Common Effort To Advance Education And To Provide Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation And Leisure Time Occupation With The Objective Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Residents.
