achievements of
the charity,
identifying the
difference the
charity’s work

beneficiaries
and any wider
benefits to
society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 This year the charity has proudly launched a summer
event to complement the Christmas events which have
continued to be a great success.
We are pleased that our first summer performance was
held on Make Music Day, an international celebration of
music making on 21st June every year. We returned to
Kings Cross who are always such kind and generous
hosts.
For this first summer event, 172 performers registered to
participate. Compared to the initial Christmas events in
2012, this is incredible!
In Christmas 2023, 348 participants registered to perform
at our event.
While only 10% of instrumental performers at Christmas
2023 do not currently make music regularly with another
group, 35% of singers are not regular performers in a
choir or otherwise. This shows a large untapped market
for one-off events for singers, to inspire them into
regular music making.
Our work was awarded a grant from Arts Council
England to enable the expansion into the summer, and
for this we are very grateful indeed.

Para 1.41 The grant award from Arts Council
England was perfect to not only secure
our future through 2023 and 2024, but
allow us to expand into summer one-off
performance events. With this
fundraising we feel confident that the
charity can survive and thrive as a
growing concern.
