Charity registration number:1173097

Objectives and Activities

Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its

Para 1.17 To promote the objects of the Riding for
the Disabled Association incorporating
Carriage Driving a Charity registered
under charity number 244108 by
providing disabled people with the
opportunity to ride and/or carriage drive
to benefit their health or well-being in
the West Mercia area
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
In furtherance of the Charity’s objects,
Riding lessons were given, weather and
COVID regulations permitting, on
Fridays during school term time
(excluding January) for the benefit of
children with disability from local
schools. Carriage driving was curtailed
by COVID and practical matters but will
start later in 2021. It benefits adults
generally with severe disability, some
from local institutions, who are not able
to ride a horse but can be a passenger
in a carriage.

Achievements against
objectives set
Para 1.41 Riding at our Grafton centre had to be
abandoned due to COVID. However, we
have 4 new volunteers and are now
operating in a manner very similar to the
pre-COVID
environment.
Carriage
Driving took a particularly hard knock in
2019. Since then, the team has worked
tirelessly to re-invent the carriage driving
side
of
our
work
which
is
now
operational again although we had no
driving during the period.
Performance of fundraising
activities against objectives
set
Para 1.41 Fundraising has also been curtailed with
many sources of revenue closed off
during the pandemic. However,
generous beneficiaries and donations
all go towards allowing us to continue
with our core objectives.
Investment performance
