DPJ Family Fun Day
This was one of the first opportunities for us to get together face to face since the start of the pandemic, It was great to be able to catch up and have a lovely day in each others company. We also learnt a bit more about large scale pig farming which is something that was less familiar to those of us who farm sheep or cows.
Thank you Dan for having us over on your farm. October 18th 2021

I can not thank you enough, from the very prompt reply to my 1st email to speedy action of providing me with a counsellor and the amazing support both yourselves and the counsellor gave me. You saved my life and l am forever thankful of this. You do a fantastic job, and don't get the recognition you deserve. SHARE THE LOAD This service helped me through a bad time in my life, I felt supported and that I did matter. At the end of my counselling I was reassured that if I needed to, I could return. It would be huge loss if this service was not available their response time is wonderful!! I have recommended DPJ to a friend who recently suffers from depression and anxiety in the hope that he will get the help he needs. Thank you fo your support

Occupations of those trained
Of the 162 people giving their occupation, 34 said they were farmers, 59 were in direct farm facing roles, 10 were agriculture students. 71 were directly farming or living on a farm.
"Kay was a great trainer, very informative and empathetic. This day really lifted my spirits and I hope to now move forward and not feel ashamed of my anxiety. I also feel I can now be more open about my mental health"
"It was unbelievable that the course was on Wednesday as this morning, completely left of field I had a call from a relative to say that her sibling had attempted the worst earlier in the week, it took my breath.I've since been passing on contacts to DPJ, RABI and financial and advisory contacts and going to visit tomorrow although it isn't public knowledge, but it has shaken us I have to say, so hoping that between the syche team and all of the above that we have it under some semblance of control. Many thanks for Wednesday, I never for one moment thought the training would come into play so soon"
"Really enjoyed the training - it was very informative and improved my understanding of mental health issues in agriculture, which are of relevance to my work as well as hobbies/activities in my free time. I feel very fortunate to have been able to complete the course free of charge. Two added bonuses was 1) being able to complete the course virtually and therefore scheduling the rest of the days tasks around the training, and 2) being able to share ideas/experiences and completing the course through the medium of Welsh.

Face to face coun5elling included outreach whÈi8 the client is mel al their home or place of work. Services were provided Éo people within 16 of the 22 W91sh local authority areas. Duiing this year it became clear that there were gaps for support provI8ion following suicide Iposfvention) and also that our Share the Load service was supporting many people who were dealing with grief. As such we applied for and were warded funding from tha We15h Govemment tts deliver more services around bereavement and grief. Awargness Raistng and beating the stigma Each of our activities feeds into this overarching theme of raising awareness of mèntal h8allh issues and tackling the $tigma that rèmains surrounding poor mental health. We resumed face lo face shows and attendance at rnarkets and events during this year. both through volunteers aftd staff. Our Regional Champions play a vital role in being the representatives tsf the charity in their areas and wè would be unable lo sustain the level of our awareness raising activities or fundraising without their extremely valuable contributions. We have 42 Regional Champions across the whole of Wales We have continued to cate and shara daily mess8ges on $oci81 media and have increased our reach by starting a new Linkedln account during this year. We h8ve also spoken al conferences and seminars for other organisations. The Wearing is Caring" clothing proved popular once again as a rneans of raising awareness of the DPJ Foundation in the community and reminding potential service users of our messaging. During the course of the year. Iruslees considered the purp03e of the clothing range and decided that it was intended to raise awareness of men181 health and thus challenging the stigrna rather than to generate income lalthough covering costs). We again participated as 8 lead partner in Ag Mental Health Week in October which generated coverage in the media and social media and included Emma our Chair of Trustees Speaking at an online session. We also benefited from the fitness challenge #Run1000 which again provided a focus in January for wellbeing. Building on this, we r8n our own challenge the Wales Coastal Path Challenge that Concluded in the Spring of 2021. Thi5 generated funds of ,607.88. Once again, we used bale stickers to allow farmers to show their support for the charity and to remind people of our Share thè Load servicè.
