Their need for some form of recognition and fair representstion did not bring satisfying results. Age Alive was created lo address those shortfalls, in giving people the opportunity lo get their voices heard, more so those of ethnic minority communities. Age Alive's objective is lo develop the capacity and skills of members of BME Over 50s of the socialty di$advanlaged community of Newport and District in such a way that they are better able to identify and help to meet their needs.. Age Alive Trustses. Annual Report (contlnu¢dJ Year ended 31 March 2024 Achievements and performance The year 2023 began in an atmosphere of celebration, both personal and the group as a whole. The hair was awarded the BEM and the group was given notice of becoming a recipient of the St David's Awards for Wales. In the ten-year written documenlary"IT Will Never Work. and 'Silent V0￿es., Asian embers telling their stories were progressing well. "Supporting Needs" was new idea that would have at its core a support worker created as a Ihree-year project. This would be a medium-sized gran thatwould maintain the position of a SUPF)Ort wother and the activities the group undertakes over the year. Thanks lo David Berry of GAVO who was a tremendous help in navigating the application and the guidance of Honey Hambley, the lottery community funding Officer in reaching a successful ¢onclusion. Age Alive can look ft)rward with pride knowing that they are lunded for anotherthree years and a support worker to tske lo maintain the technical aspe¢t of the organization. As the unfolding pages ol dete￿in￿ attitudes ignite the resolute spirits championing diversity reach out into the wider communities, discharging all traces of despondency hearts and minds come alive, eyes scanned the sceptical words, 'It Will Never Work.. The group was created to allow everyone to get their voices heard, they believe in making changes and the group's achievement of twenty hventy-three is no reason to avoid progress changes.
