Note 3 A donation of £400 was made to the University of Northumbria Civil War 'Blue Jackets' project and a donation of $500 approved but not yet paid to Fort Blakely in Mobile.
Note 4 The accounts have been prepared on an 'accruals' basis matching income/activities as far as possible with the assocated expenses, with the exception of merchandise. The costs of acquiring merchandise for sale are expensed at the time of purchase irrespective of whether that merchadise has been sold. This is not felt to have a material impact on the accounts overall.
Note 5 At 31st December 2022 the ACWRT(UK) had 118 members (2021: 124).

Trustees’ report for 2022
In 2022 the ACWRT (UK) con�nued to pursue its charitable objec�ves by enhancing knowledge and understanding of the American Civil War and contribu�ng to heritage and educa�on projects rela�ng
Six lectures were organised using a combina�on of on line and physical mee�ngs in London. Three publica�ons of our magazine ‘Crossfire’ were produced and eight edi�ons of our online newsle�er ‘Vede�e’. In May a very successful residen�al conference was held from a Friday evening to Sunday a�ernoon on the topic of the war in the Trans-Mississippi.
A dona�on of £400 was made to the University of Northumbria Civil War ‘Blue Jackets’ project researching the background of Union navy crews and a dona�on of US$500 approved to Fort Blakely in Mobile, Alabama to fund an interpre�ve sign at the site of one of the fort’s redoubts.
In 2022 the ACWRT (UK) made a surplus, before dona�ons to heritage projects, of £68. To support those dona�ons £737 was transferred from reserves.
