ERDINGTON GYMNAsncs CLUB TIA NORTH BIRMINGHAM commuN￿y GYMNAsncs REPORTOF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDED SAPAIL 2023 FINANCIAL REVIEW Reserves poIIcy The charlty's reserves policy aims to secure three to yx months of rnnning Costs within the general free reserves to ensure ongoing 5U5tsinability. The current level of free reseThes falls belowthis ObjeCt￿e at this pry'nt in time. FUTURE PL4NS This past finandal year has yet a8ain been an extreme￿ successlul time for the dub. We have maintatned rnernbership numbers around 15CiI chIld￿n and youn8 peoF4e. which has been the current capacity of the tlub. Wè have engaged a group of adults with a dia8nosis of SENO who attend NBC Gymnastics weeWy from a local day seNlce. This has been an immensely rewardin8 venture and we have seen 8reat development and ertjoyrnent from some of the attendees. Over the following year, we hope to encourage fLwther 8roup5 of adults to attend. Local p￿￿slaN ¢ften receive funding for Such sessicns, so whilst all of our w.tes remain affordable. our fundin8 applications can coneèntrate on our provision for children and youn8 people as ￿Ult groups arran8e it themselves. Our In4Gym pro8ramme tontinues to be heavily OVer-s￿b$c￿btd. These sessions are expensive to wn. especially those on a 1.1 or 2.1 basis and the urrent fundin8 is all spoketh for. Because of the turnover of users we must seek further TÈvenue fundlng to ensure we tan provide 5es5ions to more children with a diagnosis of SEND thai ¢urrently sit on our waitin8 lists. We hopè to advertise for a full.time member of staff to add to our senlor team. Many of our staff have needed to reduce their hours so this has become a necessity. We conl1nua1￿ athertise For qualified parttime Staff. ThSs year we will renovate the foam pSts and trampollne. It Is hoped that the fvnds ralsed from our popular club champion5hip5 wlll fund thls. We are still in talks with Landlord regarding the replacement of the maln roof on the warehouse area. Thls Is a lar8e costty job, but due to Inueaslng leaks in the cuirent one. thls is now becornln8 a necessity. To increase both ￿r mÈmber5hip and revenue. and to ensure the futu￿ of the or8anisation. we must look for times durin8 the week to expand. We will look to try and increase stsffin8 on a Saturtlay afternoon and tts employ staff to coach on a Sunday. This should hopefully reduce the warf(in8 lists that currently stand at nèarly 1100 children. Alon8skle this, further revenue funding rnust be sou8ht to ensure prices can be kept low for all farnilie5. The current flnancial clIm￿ and the Increased wa8e costs expected make this a priortty. Slncè ihÈ above was written, we managed to false enough money through our dub to ￿fU￿OIsh the foam pSts and trampoline. Unfortunately, just over a month latèr at the beginnlng of Juty. the buildin8 was hit by 10 rninutes of flash floodin8. This freak weathèr dèstroyed much of gur foam equipmenL soft lumishin8s and thè pfywood on our gymnastics podium. With the help of an insurance ci)nsultanL we have mana8ed to settle a contents daim and a buslness interruption claim is still wocessin8. Durin8 this time, it was thought to be the best use of time to ￿p1a￿ the roof and lightln8 Svstem whllst wewere forted to be dosed, thi5 has now been crynpleted. The club staff and various contractors worked ti￿leSS￿ to firsdy dear up from the damage and then tg rebuild and replace the damaged area5 and equipment. The gym reopened on 10th February 2024. and work continues to build Selm￿ user numbers up to pre-closure levels. STRUCWRE.
