Charity operates a retail shop supplying
Christian Literature, and Fair Trade Goods,
It acts as the distribution point for the
Romsey Food Bank (Trussell Trust), a
centre for street collections for Christian Aid
and The Red Cross. In addition, the Charity
supports Local initiatives and third world
poverty relief.
To Fund raise the retail shop sells scout
and guide uniform and other ancillary items.

the high street in very difficult trading
circumstances.
Throughout the 2020-21 National
Lockdown period the charity has
maintained a skeleton staff and volunteer
base allowing the Charity to keep trading
on a reduced basis. The Charity has
developed its regular outreach to existing
and new customers by providing a basic
electronic bi-weekly shop catalogue,
providing click-and-collect services,
providing personal local deliveries and
increasing the wider use of postal services
for more distant customers. These
activities have helped significantly to keep
the Charity in the minds of regular and new
customers and have undoubtedly helped to
increase the footfall of returning customers
each time high-street shopping restrictions
have been raised.
Widened our outreach and trading
partnership with Portsmouth Diocese.
The charity has continued to Increase our
social media and hard copy advertising
presence by joining Bookshop.org.
Bookshop.org opens online access with
minimal cost and significant increases in
outreach. The charity has also maintained
a local radio presence.

The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

BASES OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S STATEMENT

My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the organisation and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the trustees have not met the requirements to ensure that:
