Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {"the Act"). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. I have completed my examination. Section C Ob'ectives and activities The objects of the CIO are (1) to further or benefit the residents of Slaithwaite and the surrounding area without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, disability, race or of political, religious or other opinions in accordance with the protected characteristics defined by current legislation by associating together residents and local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occu ation with Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document TAR March 2012

the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents. (2) in furtherance of these objects but not otherwise, the trustees shall have power to establish, secure, preserve and hold on trust the establishment of Slaithwaite Civic Hall as a community asset and to maintain or manage or co-operate with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects. (3) To promote the performing and visual arts for the public benefit. The Civic Hall is becoming a vibrant part of the community of Slaithwaite and the Colne Valley as usage of the building increases by a wide variety of groups and individuals. Long term tenant Experience Community continued its activities which include helping physically disabled people enjoy the benefits of outdoor and green spaces. EC offers a range of activities, from rambling and cycling to conservation and the arts. Wheelchair skills courses were also delivered. Performing arts activities increased with rehearsals and concerts by many groups including Slaithwaile Philharmonic Orchestra, Mikron Theatre, Colne Vally Male Voice Choir, &Piano music festival. Alongside this the main hall was used by other groups delivering fitness and wellbeing activities including dance groups, yoga classes, pilates classes and a weekly Youth Club. The Slaithwaite & District Horticultural and Allotments Society held the annual show in the main hall which was attended by many members of the local community. The hall also hosted the final event of the 2025 Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival, a vibrant celebration of community and creativity. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) Music rehearsals are held regularly within the building. The hall is also used by members of the community for private parties and celebrations. One of the rooms has continued to be used as a vaccination centre for Slaithwaite and the wider community. The Slaithwaite Civic Hall Trust continues to be managed by volunteers from the community. The office space in the building continues to be let and has provided funds which will be used towards refurbishment of the building. Refurbishment of part of the building continued this year with the completion of a Changing Places Room and the installation of new boilers. In making decisions the trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance where that guidance is relevant. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year Slaithwaite Civic Hall continues to be well used by a large section of the community of Slaithwaite and the surrounding area. Interest in the facilities and use of the building continues to increase. Key achievements during the year: Full letting of all available office space within the building Completion of Changing Places Room including improvements to external access areas Installation of new boilers in upgrade to heating system New tenants have established weekly Food Share Scheme to serve the community of Slaithwaite Increased lettings for performing arts including orchestras, choirs, theatre group and piano festival Increased lettings for wellbeing activities including food share, youth club, yoga classes, fitness and dance classes 100 club set up with monthly prize draw to raise funds towards building refurbishment The Trustees continued to meet regularly. Plans for refurbishment of the building remain in place and were reviewed regularly by the Trustees. TAR March 2012
